Reid's Palace - Premium Room

Reid's Palace, an Orient Express Hotel and member of The Leading Hotels of the World is Madeira's best known hotel. Opened in 1891, Reid's Palace has changed and moved with the times so well that it is the perfect hotel for families and couples as well as for the solo traveller.

Situated on the edge of Funchal, Reid's Palace is set in 10 acres of lush semi tropical gardens. Here you can truly relax in the many delightful quiet areas of the gardens or down at sea level where you will find several semi-private sheltered terraces.

Bedrooms at Reid's Palace are very comfortable and individually decorated and all have balcony or terrace with either garden or sea view. The choice of restaurants is excellent and will suit all tastes. From the more formal Dining Room where gentlemen are requested to wear jacket and tie to the informal and fun Villa Cipriani. Les Faunes is a seasonal restaurant, open from October to May, as is Brisa do Mar, serving French creative cuisine, open from June to September, the al fresco restaurant set in the hotel gardens with stunning views over the bay of Funchal and from you where you could well be treated to an impromptu and impressive firework display (the Madeirans love fireworks!). There is also the Garden Room for breakfast and poolside buffet lunches. Service is attentive and discreet.

Reid's Palace has 2 heated swimming pools (one seawater one freshwater) plus a natural pool at sea level and a children's pool. In addition this excellent hotel has 2 tennis courts and offers special arrangements at 2 superb golf courses nearby as well we being able to arrange watersports and deep sea fishing.

An excellent childrens club at Reid's Palace makes the hotel a great choice for family holidays in Madeira.. ''Fun at Reid's'' offers a programme of supervised activities for 3-9 year olds.

The recent addition of Reid's spa is a big asset. A spacious, airy building which houses a large welcoming reception area, 4 treatment rooms each with outdoor terrace plus a couples suite, together with a large rooftop terrace for relaxing pre or post treatment. The therapists are charming and very professional. To compliment the spa there is a very good hairdressing salon, and a fully equipped gym with the enviable sea views.
