The Balinese spa at the Ritz Carlton Dubai is an oasis of calm and features the renowned product lines Carita and Bella Lucce. Divine aromas waft from various treatment rooms - you can choose your own Indonesian oil combinations. Treat yourself to an hour-long full body massage from one of the therapists. My favourite indulgence was the Javanese Lulur body treatment - 90 minutes of bliss. A Balinese massage is followed by warm herbal scrub (a mixture of rice, tumeric, sandalwood and another secret ingredient) to remove dead skin. Yoghurt is then applied, before showering and relaxing in a deep aromatic bath with strong massaging jets - trying not to fall asleep. A floral body lotion is the finishing touch, leaving you invigorated and alert. Dubai's only boutique hotel and in our opinion the place to only stay for the discerning traveller.

Building work will begin at the Ritz Carlton on the 25th April as a new wing will be added.
