Pre-book your treatments:
The popularity of spa treatments means that you could find the spa fully booked when you arrive at the hotel so let us pre-book the treatments
on your behalf. If you don’t know what type of treatment you would like to have and wish to discuss this with the spa director / doctor we still advise that we pre-book the time slots and then you can let the spa know locally which treatments you will have at these times.
Consult the experts:
Invariably each spa will have a spa director or even a spa doctor who will be able to advise you best of which treatments to have to suit your body and your needs. Whatever you are looking for they will be the people to advise you. Any questions you have with regard to the suitability of treatments, new treatments that you may not have experienced before or just to get a feel for the spa should also be directed to the spa staff.
Food and drink:
Generally it is recommended not to eat directly before having a
treatment and if so to eat lightly. Some spas have their own spa menus that complement the treatments / programme you are following to achieve maximum results. It is crucial to drink plenty of water before and after any treatment. Water re-hydrates the body helping it to cleanse itself and work properly. It is also best to avoid caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and very sugary foods prior to a treatment.
Express yourself:
You should feel confident and relaxed in any good spa and therefore you should express your likes and dislikes to the therapist – massage pressure, temperature, music – let them know how you like it.
Relax and enjoy:
It is important to be relaxed before entering the spa so allow plenty of time before your treatment to get ready – a mad rush before your treatment will not bring out the full benefits. Deep breathing during a treatment can help to relax you further. Go into the spa in a positive frame of mind with the intention of enjoying your experience and let the therapists work their magic.
